We Will be Honoring two Quilt of Valor’s at this year’s show!

August 3, 2018

Quilts of Valor Foundation is a non-profit foundation whose goal is cover ALL physically or psychologically wounded service members with a freedom quilt, honoring them for their sacrifices.  The movement was originally started by Catherine Roberts of Seaford, DE in 2003 and has now spread throughout the United States and even overseas. Currently the Quilt of Valor Foundation has awarded over 193,000 and that number continues to grow each week.

We invite you to join the cause and attend our Heroes, Horses and Hogs event on August 4, 2018 at Open Road Harley-Davidson. Karen Demaree, Wisconsin State Coordinator for the Quilt of Valor Foundation. Karen has been quilting since 1976 and joined QOVF because she wanted to make great quilts with specific honor attached to them during the 911/PA/Pentagon project.

This honorary dedication will take place 3:00PM on Saturday August 4th and will be honoring two deserving individuals. Steve Uecker who served in Vietnam as an Army officer where he was attached to the 4th Infantry Division and Kim Galske who was a Sargent in the United States Marine Corp and currently serves as the executive director of this year’s beneficiary Salute the Troops, Inc.

These quilts provide a tangible gift of love and appreciation from local quilters, Mrs. Kolstad and Fran Rhine. Their generous donation in hours of sewing time represents the prayers, healing thoughts, and gratefulness of their makers. Join us in thanking them for their dedication and service to our great nation.
